There is a wide range of different cuisines that can be found in Amsterdam, the national dish could be said to be Pancakes as there are many pancake or waffle houses specialising in sickly sweet delicacies.
One interesting local cuisine is Indonesian food; in fact it is widely regarded as the best place to eat Indonesian food outside of Indonesia itself The food tends to come in many smaller dishes placed on your table at once, similar to tapas which are already a popular dining option in the UK.
With over a thousand restaurants in the city and similar numbers of hotels catering for all needs Amsterdam is not surprisingly a growing city with regards to tourism and the city has capitalised on this aspect with a growing tourist trade. Again with ferries and flights to Amsterdam coming down in price now is the time to explore Amsterdam.
